History

      IACI was founded in June 2003 by Yemi Ojo at Dublin. The organisation was started with only fifteen members and has evolved into a large national non-profit with over five hundred members and twenty volunteers. The organisation now has branches in Dublin, Wexford, Dundalk, InnerCity, and Tallaght, and is affiliated with Catholic Youth Care (CYC). IACI's headquarters are located in Dublin 1.

Relevant Statistics

      From 2002-2006, the net inward migration for the Republic of Ireland was 191,331 people.According to the Census from 2006, there were 413,223 non-Irish nationals usually resident in the State, or 10% of the population. Of these, 271,974, or 66%, are citizens of the EU. 6% (24,151) are from the rest of Europe and 9% (34564) are Africans. 46,064 (11%) are Asians and 20,771 (5%) are from the Americas.
